Ed and Karen live in Sandhurst, Berkshire, England. This is between Camberley and Bracknell and about 40 miles south west of London.
Ed is now semi retired following redundancy from Capital International Ltd. in October 2009. He is now working part time looking after the ICT at Wildridings Primary School in Bracknell. Outside work and family my primary interests are Sailing, computers and Genealogy.
Karen works at Sandhurst School, the local Secondary School as head of Modern Foreign Languages having qualified through the Graduate Teacher Programme. Outside work and home her primary interest is Hockey (Field Hockey to our American cousins). She is a qualified level 2 umpire and in the season travels all over the south of England coaching hockey umpires.
Martyn graduated from the University of Bath in 2006 with a B.Sc. (Hons) IIi in Politics with Economics. He participated in the Teach First programme teaching and is now Assistant Headteacher at Mellow Lane School, a secondary school in Hayes, West London. He lives in Richmond with his wife Claire whom he married in 2009. He plays hockey every Saturday in the season. Like many ex students he has a particular skill in drinking and probably knows more drinking games than anybody in the country!
Christine graduated from the University of Winchester in 2007 with a B.A. (Hons) IIii in Sports Studies with Psycology. She went on to do a PGCE at the University of Southampton and is now a P.E. teacher at Poole High School and lives in Bournemouth which she loves. She is big into Netball.
Each year at Christmas we publish EsseryGRAM - a record of events and news over the previous year. They tell as much about us, out interests and how they have developed over the years as anything. Take a look.
Karen and Ed have a mid-life crisis - a red Mazda MX-5 (or Miata) - the best car we ever owned! To see more visit www.miata.net. For practical purposes we also have a Toyota Prius. Our boat and passion is a 34 foor Hanse 342 called Scorpio. In 2010 she took us on an extended cruise of the west coast of Scotland - a trip with its own blog. In 2006, after five years of ownership, we sold SKYBIRD our 27'6" MG Contessa 27 yacht - she replaced ffröhlich - our classic 20 foot Flying Fifteen day racing keelboat we owned from May 1995 to March 2001.
